WE HAVE DISCUSSED OBESITY. WE KNOW THAT THE QUANTITY OF FOOD CAUSES FAT AND OBESITY.
WE ALSO KNOW THAT THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD CAUSES DIABETES.
TO HEAL YOURSELF OF DIABETES, OR TO PREVENT GETTING DIABETES, YOU NEED TO EAT GOOD FOODS.
NOT ALL FOODS ARE CREATED EQUALLY, BY NATURE OR BY A FOOD MANUFACTURER.
LET’S FIRST DISCUSS A FOOD MANUFACTURER. TEN, TWENTY, THIRTY YEARS AGO WE WENT TO A GARDEN AND PICKED OUR FOOD, OR TO A FOOD PEDDLER IN AN OPEN MARKET. GRANDMA PINCHED THE FOOD TO SEE IF IT WAS OVER-RIPE.
MORE AND MORE LAND IS BEING CONVERTED INTO HOUSING AND COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS, AND STREETS TO GET TO AND FROM THESE FACILITIES. LOOK AROUND AND YOU WILL SEE LESS LAND FOR AGRICULTURE. WE NOW HAVE BUILDINGS BEING USED TO MAKING FOOD. THIS FOOD IS OFTEN DIFFERENT THEN OUR PREVIOUS FOOD. MANY TIMES IT HAS BEEN MODIFIED.
BROWN RICE HAS BECOME WHITE RICE, A BAKED POTATOE HAS BECOME MASHED, OR A FRY OR CHIP. WHEAT HAS BECOME WHITE FLOUR.
THEN THERE ARE ADDITIVES, SUCH AS HYDROGENATED OILS THAT CAN LEAD TO HEART PROBLEMS, SO THE FOOD HAS A LONGER SHELF LIFE, SO THAT THE PRODUCT IS MORE LIKELY TO BE SOLD, INSTEAD OF BEING DISCARDED.
IT’S A DIFFERENT WORLD. BUT, LUCKY FOR US, A GROUP OF AUSTRALIAN DOCTORS HAVE CONDUCTED EXTENSIVE RESEARCH ON OVER 700 FOODS, AND DETERMINED EACH FOOD’S ABILITY TO GENERATE DIABETES IN OUR BODIES. THE RESULTS OF THEIR MEDICAL RESEARCH WAS A RATING SYSTEM, CALLED THE GLYCEMIC INDEX. FOR EXAMPLE, PRETZELS ARE A BAD 83, AND MACARONI IS A GOOD 45.
IN MY BOOK, “WINNING THE FIGHT AGAINST DIABETES”, I HAVE A LIST OF 25 BAD FOODS, AND A LIST OF 42 GOOD FOODS. THE MANUFACTURED FOODS, SUCH AS BAKERY ITEMS, TEND TO BE THE BIGGEST DANGER TO US, AND THE FOODS THAT ARE NATURAL, WITH THE LEAST PROCESSING, LIKE FRUIT, ARE THE BEST FOR OUR BODIES.
OBESITY DOES NOT CAUSE DIABETES. IT IS NOT QUANTITY, BUT QUALITY OF FOOD THAT CAUSES DIABETES. THE GLYCEMIC INDEX DEFINES THE QUALITY OF FOOD.
BECAUSE OF THE DIFFERENT CAUSES, QUANTITY AND QUALITY, OF THE FOOD, DIABETES DOES NOT CAUSE OBESITY, AND OBESITY DOES NOT CAUSE DIABETES.
THAT LEAVES US WITH, DOES DIABETES CAUSE ALZHEIMER’S? YES! BECAUSE ALZHEIMER’S IS PART OF BEING A DIABETIC.!
MY DEFINITION OF DIABETES, IS THAT THERE IS MORE GLUCOSE IN THE BLOODSTREAM THAN NORMAL. THERE IS EXCESS GLUCOSE AND IT STAYS THAT WAY TOO LONG. IT GIVES OUR NATURAL BREATHING, CONTAINING OXYGEN, THE OPPORTUNITY TO OXIDIZE THE GLUCOSE INTO ANOTHER ELEMENT. THIS ELEMENT IS FREE RADICALS THAT FLOW THROUGH OUR BODY AND CAUSES BLINDNESS, KIDNEY FAILURE, AMPUTATIONS, AND HEART PROBLMS.
THESE FREE RADICALS FLOW ALONG IN OUR BLOODSTREAM TO ONE OF THE BIGGEST USERS OF OUR BLOOD – OUR HEAD! THERE THEY START DESTROYING OUR BRAIN.
THAT’S MY RATIONALE. ALZHEIMER’S IS AS MUCH DIABETES AS MACULAR DEGENERATION IS, OR KIDNEY FAILURE, OR HAVING NEUROPATHY LEADING TO AMPUTATIONS.
MY OLDER SISTER WAS IN AN ALZHEIMER’S TREATMENT FACILITY. I VISITED HER AT LUNCH. SHE ALWAYS WAS SERVED MASHED POTATOES (A CAUSE OF DIABETES), AND A THIN WHITE BREAD SANDWICH (ANOTHER CAUSE).
I WENT TO THE MANAGER AND GAVE HIM MY BOOK, SAYING, “MY SISTER HAS ALZHEIMER’S, LET’S NOT ADD DIABETES TO HER PROBLEMS.” THE MANAGER, A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL, NEVER READ THE BOOK. PERHAPS IF HE HAD, HE WOULD HAVE RECOGNIZED THE CONNECTION TO DIABETES.
I BLAME MYSELF FOR NOT MAKING THE CONNECTION EARLIER. I WAS TOO BUSY GETTING MY BOOK IN THE HANDS OF THOSE IN NEED IN SEVEN COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD.
